Emergency Dentistry
Rapid Care, Lasting Relief Emergency Dentistry & Root-Cause Care Urgent dental relief that addresses the root cause, not just the pain.

What Is Functional Emergency Dentistry?
Dental emergencies are jarring, uncomfortable, and often strike without warning. Most emergency care focuses entirely on quick fixes—numbing the area, placing a band-aid solution, and sending you on your way. While immediate relief is essential, stopping at symptom management leaves the underlying vulnerability unaddressed, setting you up for recurring issues down the road.
Functional emergency dentistry takes a two-part approach: delivering immediate, compassionate pain relief while simultaneously evaluating why the failure or trauma occurred. Whether a broken tooth stems from hidden structural stress or an infection indicates a broader oral microbiome imbalance, we look at the complete picture.
This root-cause perspective is the foundation of Midtown Dental Wellness.
By using low-radiation digital X-rays and advanced diagnostics, Dr. Chetna Patel evaluates the full extent of the damage from day one. We resolve your immediate crisis while establishing a plan to restore long-term stability, strength, and function to your smile.

Why Urgent Care Matters
DMD, FAGD
Beyond the Smile At Midtown Dental Wellness, we look at the mouth as a window into whole-body health. Emergency dental care is no exception.
An acute dental issue, such as a severe abscess or sudden trauma, creates systemic stress, inflammation, and potential risk to surrounding tissues if left untreated. Promptly managing dental trauma and infections prevents localized issues from escalating into broader systemic health challenges.
Addressing emergencies through a whole-body lens ensures that urgent treatment doesn't just eliminate pain—it protects your overall health and safeguards your long-term wellness.
How It Works
Immediate Triage & Pain Relief
When you reach out with an emergency, we prioritize same-day or next-day care. Upon arrival, our first goal is to make you comfortable, manage acute pain, and stabilize the area in a calm, judgment-free space.
Root-Cause Diagnostic Assessment
Using precision digital diagnostics and low-radiation X-rays, Dr. Patel evaluates the full scope of the emergency. We identify the exact source of pain, fracture lines, or structural vulnerabilities beneath the surface.
Definitive Restorative Care
Once comfortable, we walk you through your treatment options. Whether you need a bio-compatible tooth-colored filling, custom crown, root canal therapy, or soft tissue repair, we restore both function and aesthetics while preserving as much natural tooth structure as possible.
Preventive & Long-Term Care Plan
Before you leave, we establish a step-by-step follow-up strategy. This includes guiding your healing, offering custom nightguards or sportsguards if trauma or grinding was a factor, and preventing future emergencies

FAQs
Dr. Patel and our team prioritize same-day and next-day appointments for urgent cases. If you are in pain or experiencing an acute issue, call our office immediately so we can fit you into our schedule as quickly as possible.
Time is critical. Gently pick up the tooth by the crown (top part), avoiding the root. Rinse it softly with water if dirty, but do not scrub it. Try to reinsert it gently into the socket if possible, or keep it moist in a small cup of milk or saliva. Call our office immediately—seeing us within 30 to 60 minutes gives the best chance of saving the tooth.
We accept most major insurance plans and will assist you in maximizing your emergency benefits. For patients without insurance, all Midtown Dental Wellness in-house Membership Plans (Child, Adult, and Perio) include one complimentary emergency exam per year, plus 10% off necessary procedures.
Your health and comfort shouldn't wait due to financial stress. In addition to our in-house membership plans, we partner with Cherry to offer fast, flexible monthly payment options that let you spread the cost of urgent care over time with an instant approval process.
